I have recently become obsessed with picture books! There is something so relaxing about reading a picture book with beautiful illustrations. Here are few of my favorites I have enjoyed over the past couple of months.
The Bear and the Piano written and illustrated by David Litchfield
This is an adorable story about a bear who finds a piano in the woods. He learns to play it and becomes a famous piano player. This book is beautifully drawn and the story is simple. I LOVED the end papers of this book (I know random right)!! Anyway this is an adorable book and I highly recommend this one.
Dragons Love Tacos by Adam Rubin, Illustrated by Daniel Salmieri
This is a silly story about how dragons love tacos (obviously). This was a hilarious and I really enjoyed reading this with Mays. The illustrations are again simple and beautiful. I really loved this. I talked about it in my June wrap-up.
This is a coming of age story about Nicky, who is sent to his grandmother’s house for the summer. She is a little bit eccentric and lives in a cabin along the river. This story is about growing up, art, and nature. I liked this art style a lot. This book has a lot of text on each page and I would therefore recommend it for 3rd-5th graders.
Here are three of my favorite picture books I have read over the past couple of months.
