Hey y’all! Can we talk about how exciting it is to have a three day weekend. With all the stress of things going on in Texas (I wasn’t directly effected by the hurricane, praise the Lord), I welcome a calm three day weekend in.
For this weekend I will, of course, be reading and blogging. I will get my August/Read-a-thin Wrap-up up this weekend and my September TBR. Maybe a review if I have time.
Anyway, I thought that I would tell y’all what I am planning on reading/finishing this weekend. I have been working on most of these books for a couple of weeks because, honestly, I was feeling a little bit slumpy after the 7 in 7 Readathon. I think I burned myself out, but I will definitely be completing these over the long weekend.
Girls Made of Snow and Glass by Melissa Bashardoust – It took me until the 50% mark to really feel invested in these characters and for anything to happen. I know that I’ll fly thorough the rest of this ARC, hopefully, and do a full review by it’s release date of September 5.
Kitty Hawk and the Curse of the Yukon Gold by Iain Reading – This is a review book that I was sent and I really need to get the review completed soon.
Fierce Kingdom by Gin Phillips – I have to read this one because one of my good friends is dying to discuss this book with me and I’m dying to read it. This should be a quick read since it is less than 300 pages and an action-packed thriller. From what I hear, it’s best to consume this book in one sitting.
Salvage the Bones by Jesmyn Ward – I really want to read some Jesmyn Ward before I meet her in a couple of weeks for the release of her newest book, Sing, Unburied, Sing. This is a story that takes place during Hurricane Katrina and it sounds so interesting. I have heard nothing but fantastic things about her writing.
These are the main ones that I want to read/finish over the long and lazy weekend. I have a middle grade ARC that I might try to squeeze in and the audiobook for Shelter by Jung Yun that I may listen too.
Mayson, my son, and I are currently listening to The Titan’s Curse (Book #3 in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians) by Rick Riordan while we mill about town.
This seems pretty ambitious and I don’t expect to finish all of them but if I could make progress in some of them, I’ll be happy.
What are your plans for this long weekend? What are you reading?
Stay safe this weekend.
