Hey y’all!! Today I will be doing a picture book review of the book She Persisted by Chelsea Clinton and Illustrated by Alexandra Boiger. This book is about some of the great women throughout history who fought the odds and became something greater in the American landscape.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Each spread gives a brief history of each lady showcasing what obstacle were before her and how “she persisted” and made a change in America. The writing was concise and includes a quote from each phenomenal woman. There is so much diversity in this book that it made my heart happy, that there was a book where many children could pick up a book and find someone who was like them and had done great things. This book gives hope and shows that with hard work and strong beliefs you can do great things. This is very much needed.
I highly recommend this book to children Pre-K and up. I checked this out from the library but I will be buying a copy for the house and gifting it to a few people for Christmas.
Talk to you soon with my end of the month post.
Much love,
Tasha
