Blogmas Day 4: November Book Haul

Hey y’all! I’m back with another Blogmas post!  Today I am going to talk about all of the books that I purchased in the month of November.  These were bought over the course of the whole month of November from various places.  I bought a total of 17 books this month so let’s get started.

Book of the Month pick for November: Bonfire by Kristen Ritter – This book is written by the actress who plays Jessica Jones and was in Don’t Trust the B in Apt. 23.  This book is an adult thriller novel that I have heard nothing but incredible things about.  I will probably pick this up on a weekend and devour it in one sitting.

If you don’t know what book of the month is or you want to sign up you can use my link here.

I also surprisingly won a Book Riot Giveaway.  I didn’t really think people won these but I did.  The book they sent me is The Girl in the Tower by Katherine Arden.  This is book two in The Winternight Trilogy.  This is a fairy-tale esq book that has Russian folklore elements to it.  I haven’t ready the first book The Bear and the Nightingale (but it may show up in an upcoming haul ;)).

The next two books I want to talk about I bought from my library’s on-going book sale.  The hardbacks are $1 and the paperbacks are $.50.  I bought two paperbacks this month.

The Girl in the Spider Web by David Lagercrantz – This is a continuation from the Millenium Trilogy since Stieg Larsson has passed.  I am interested to see what happens next but it has been a while since I have read the books so I would want to re-read the trilogy.

Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln by Doris Kearns Goodwin –  This is a HUGE non-fiction book about Abraham Lincoln.  This was also the basis for the movie Lincoln.  I  have heard that although this book is big, it is very readable and Doris Kearns Goodwin is a great biographer.

Next I picked up 6 books from Dollar Tree over the month.  I love buying books at Dollar Tree for the obvious reason. I don’t know a whole lot about them so I’m just going to list them and I’ll also link the Goodreads for them:

Em and the Big Hoom by Jerry Pinto

Mrs. Hemingway by Naomi Wood

On Mystic Lake by Kristen Hannah

The Vacationer by Emma Staub

How to Get Filthy Rich in Rising Asia by Mohsin Hamid

The White Princess by Philippa Gregory

Lastly, Here are the books that I picked up from Half Priced Books.  I just love Half Priced Books and I think I am most excited for these.  I went a couple of times this month and this is all that I picked up:

Leviathan Wakes by James S.A. Corey – This is book one in the Expanse series.  I don’t know a whole lot about it but I do know that I would like to read more Sci-Fi because I think it will please my inner science nerd that I keep clamped down these days.

Green Earth by Kim Stanley Robinson – This is a bind up of one of her series.  I got a really good deal on this and only paid like $3.

Female Executions by Geoffrey Abbott – This is a non-fiction book about female executions.  It is set up kind of like an encyclopedia.  It sounded interesting so I bought it.

Into the Dim by Janet B. Taylor – This is a YA fantasy series and that’s about all I want to know.  The sequel came out some time this year and I’m interested into getting into this.  Maybe this will be one that I absolutely love because I am searching.

The Hot Zone: The Terrifying True Story of the Origins of the Ebola Virus by Richard Preston – This is another non-fiction book that I picked up.  I do like medical books and I heard that this read like a fiction.

The Book of Life by Deborah Harkness – This is the final book in the All Souls Trilogy.  I’m loving this series and cannot wait to see how it all ends.  This is definitely a series that I would revisit in the future and will recommend for a while.

The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt – This is a historical fiction I believe.  I bought this book because it is a part of a project that I plan on doing next year and it was less than $3.

Well that is all that I have for November book haul.  What did you pick up in November? What did you buy this month?  Let’s chat in the comments.

Much Love,

Tasha
