Hey y’all! I was thinking about what I wanted to post today and I thought a book tag would be fun. I’m doing the rapid fire book tag today. I’m not sure where it originated but it’s a pretty fun tag. So here we go!
E-book or Physical: Physical is preferred but I don’t mind an e-book.
Paperback or hardback: Paperback for sure!
Online or in-store book shopping: In store, I love to wander around book stores.
Trilogies or Series: Trilogies, I have commitment issues with series so I usually can make it through three books.
Heros or Villians: Heroes, but I do like an apologetically bad villian
A book you want everyone to read: The Heart’s Invisible Furies by John Boyne
Recommend an underrated author: Attica Locke. I’ve only read one of her books but I feel like more people should be talking about her.
The last book you finished: The City of Brass by S.A. Chakraborty
Weirdest thing you’ve used as a bookmark: A paper towel. Idk.
Used books, yes or no: Heck yes! My home library would be half the size if I paid for new books only.
Top three favorite genres: Literary fiction, fantasy, middle grade
Borrow or buy: Both! I’m a huge advocate for libraries. I’m always shouting its praises. But if a book is cheap, I know I will/do love it I will definitely purchase it.
Character or plot: Depends on the genre. I need a balance of both in my fantasy so that I can get invested in the series, which fantasy books tend to be. In middle grade I’m not particular. In my literary fiction, I enjoy a good character study.
Long or short books: Long books. I like to sit with my character and worlds for a while.
Name the first 3 books you can think of: The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas, Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry by Mildred D. Taylor, and The City of Brass by S.A. Chakraborty
Books that make you laugh or cry: Definitely laugh.
Our world or fictional: Ummmm…have you heard what’s going on in the US recently? Fictional
Audiobooks yes or no: Heck yes! I work full time and I am a single mother. Without audiobooks I wouldn’t be able to get through half of the things I read in a month.
Do you ever judge a book by its cover: Yes, who hasn’t.
Book to movie or book to tv: Book to tv, I feel like they can stay truer to the story if they don’t have to cram everything in under two hours. Imagine a Harry Potter tv series. Ginny might of actually had a personality in the tv show.
A movie or tv show that you prefer to the book: The first Twilight movie (fight me, LOL).
Series or standalones: Standalones because of commitment issues.
That’s it for the rapid fire book tag. Let me know the book you want everyone to read in the comments.
