Hey y’all! My one year blog anniversary is on the 19th of May and I can’t believe it! I have always had a problem with consistency and I have consistently been posting on this blog for almost a year. To celebrate, I will be doing a Post A Day throughout the entire month of May! I have also set up a few challenges for myself during this month, because I recently looked at my unread books on my shelf and the number has gotten a little out of control. Here are some of the goals that I hope to accomplish during the month of May:
- Post everyday. (Well duh!)
- Read only books that I own. When your unread TBR is over 200 AND you absolutely love your library, this can be a difficult task. I sent all my library books back and I will be only reading and listening to books that I own.
- I want to read more adult books this month. I love YA but I usually have a better balance between the YA and adult books. Most of the books I buy are adult books but I have been recently reading exclusively YA from the library. I would like to get back to that balance.
- Lastly, I want to read 15 books this month. It’s basically a book every other day. I was going to aim for 30 books but I have a lot going on this month, so that just wasn’t realistic. In an effort to help me complete this goal I will be participating in two readathons: The One Readathon to Rule Them All (TBR here) and Bout of Books 22 which starts immediately after The One Readathon is over. I also plan on getting some good reading in over Memorial Day weekend, maybe do a 24 hour readathon for that day (I’ll let you know). Also, I have themed my Weekly TBRs for the month, in an effort to narrow down my selections.
I just want to thank everyone who has followed the blog and who has liked my posts. I originally started the blog because I wanted a place to talk about the books that I was devouring and I’m not surrounded by readers. Additionally, as my son was starting to read more, I wanted to be more aware of the content that he was consuming. My friends around me with children also wanted to know what their children were consuming but didn’t have as much time to read. That’s the origin of Amaysn Reads. I never would have imagined that there would be almost 40 people interested in what I had to say about books.
I’m excited to go on this Post A Day May journey with y’all and I can’t wait to fully commit to this project. If you are excited too, go ahead and like this post and follow my blog. If you have any suggestions for post you would like to see from me, tell me in the comments.

I know the feeling for #2! I love my library too, but I’m planning to read mostly books that I already own this month. Good luck with your goals!
