Blogmas Day 2: Friday Reads

Hey y’all! Today I wanted to talk about what I plan on reading, and hopefully finishing, this weekend. It is the 14th of the month and I have not completed any books, however I am in the middle of like 4 books. I know, I’m a hot mess. This weekend should be pretty chill, we are decorating for Christmas and we plan on just hanging out at the house. So hopefully, I can read all the books, or at least complete one. Here are the books that I plan on making progress in over the weekend.

Muse of Nightmares by Laini Taylor -I am about 200 pages in this one. I am liking it so far, but I find this book is better consumed in larger chunks of time, which I haven’t recently been having. I hope to get at least two thirds of the way through this one.

Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel – I am reading this one slowly because historical fiction is not a genre I read often. I feel like maybe I should know more about the Tudor era to fully understand what is going on, however it is well written.

Ace of Shades by Amanda Foody – This is my current audiobook listen. I’m not far enough in to really know how I feel about it. I’m slightly intrigued but not fully hooked yet. The world is like a Victorian Las Vegas era with gangs and grimy casino owners. Also, the audio narrator is pretty good and engaging.

Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton – I would describe this as a desert western. I am enjoying this book but I’m about 100 pages in and I’m kinda ready for the plot to start. I will give it another 50 pages before I make a decision on whether to continue.

These are all of the books that I hope to make progress in over the weekend. Tomorrow I will put up my TBR for the Magical Readathon: Christmas at Hogwarts put on by Book Roast on YouTube.
