Blogmas Day 6: Series I’m Excited to Continue

Hey y’all! This post is coming a little late but here I am to discuss the book series that I am currently loving and can’t wait to finish or continue. I’m classically terrible at continuing series but I this year I have gotten so much better. I have actually been continuing in series and I FINALLY completed the Harry Potter series (we’ll talk about that later) but any way these are some of the series that I am currently in the middle of and would like to complete or catch up in very soon.

The first 3 books of the Seven Realms series.

The Seven Realms series by Cinda Williams Chima (Currently on book 3 of 4) – This is the first series in Cinda Williams Chima’s wider world. The Seven Realms series begins with The Demon King and I remember closing this book and thinking, “This is a well written fantasy book.” I have a full review of this book here. I have The Gray Wolf Throne on my Christmas at Hogwarts TBR and I really hope that I can get to it during the readathon.

Complete Crazy Rich Asians trilogy

Crazy Rich Asians Trilogy by Kevin Kwan (Currently on book 2 of 3) – I can’t believe I haven’t flown right through these books yet but adulting. *sigh* This is a hilarious story, beginning with Crazy Rich Asians, about people with too much money and an unsuspecting girl. I laughed, I got angry, and my heart was full. I have not seen the movie yet but I do know that I want to finish this trilogy very soon.

Books 2 and 3 in the Embers quartet.

Ember Quartet by Sabaa Tahir (Currently on book 3 or 4 – 4th book has not been released) – I enjoyed an Ember in the Ashes, the first book of the series. I did a full review of the first book here. I loved the direction that book two, A Torch Against the Night took the story. I’m so interested in seeing what the third book does. Sabaa Tahir is good at unfolding a whole story with a finesse that I don’t often see. The brutality of the world is not lessened for the audience and I really appreciate that. Additionally, Sabaa can write.

First two books in the Winternight Trilogy. Book 3 releases in Janaury. (See Most Anticipated First Quarter 2019 post)

Winternight trilogy by Katherine Arden (All caught up. Last book releases in January 2019) – This is so atmospheric and feminist and just all around awesome. This slow burning story begins with The Bear and the Nightingale where we meet Vasya. Vasya is such an intriguing character who you will constantly be rooting to succeed. I loved the first too books and the way book two ended makes me anxious to see where the story goes in The Winter of the Witch.

These are the four series that I am actively trying to catch up/complete. I’m excited for all of these. I didn’t include the Nevermoor series because you already know. Wundersmith is literally the next book I’m picking up. Anyway, I have most of these on my shelf waiting to be picked up so that makes it so much more likely for me to read them.

What are some series you’re excited to continue? Let’s chat in the comments.
