February TBR 2019

Hey y’all! Today I wanted to talk about my VERY ambitious February TBR. I decided that for most of the month of February I would be trying to catch-up or even finish series that I’ve started. I recently went through my Goodreads and looked at all of the series that I have started. It was legit over 60. Granted I do not plan to continue of finish a lot of them, however there is still a substantial amount that I need to make my way through. This TBR pile is ridiculous, however with the help of audiobooks and a few days scheduled off work, I should get to a lot of them. Also, there are some books that are not part of series that I hope to read.

My priorities:

Blue Lily, Lily Blue by Maggie Stiefvater – This is the third book in The Raven Cycle. I really enjoy these books and Stiefvater’s writing, so I’m excited to see what the Raven Boys get up to next.

A Conjuring of Light by V.E. Schwab – Me and V.E. Schwab have a complicated relationship. I don’t dislike her books but I don’t absolutely love them. This is the last book in the Shades of Magic trilogy and I really just want to wrap it up.

China Rich Girlfriend by Kevin Kwan – I have been promising my co-worker that I was going to continue in this series because she not only read them all, but she gave them to me when she was finished. I will finally be reading this second book in the Crazy Rich Asians series.

Godsgrave by Jay Kristoff – I LOVED Nevernight and the last book Darkdawn will be coming out towards the end of the year. I really want to make sure that I am completely caught up before the last book comes out.

The Crimson Crown by Cinda Williams Chima – It’s no secret that I love the Seven Realms series and I can’t wait to finish this series and see what happens to Hans and Raisa.

City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare – Ok. Here’s the thing. I didn’t like City of Bones at all. It was melodramatic and the ending was weird. However, I’m totally intrigued by The Infernal Devices series and The Dark Artifices and to fully enjoy those, I feel like I need to read The Mortal Instruments.

Before the Devil Breaks You by Libba Bray – I love Libba Bray, I love this series and I can’t believe I haven’t read this book yet.

On the Come Up by Angie Thomas – Let’s be real, you thought this book wouldn’t be here. My copy has been pre-ordered, which will be signed and personalized, since November. I will definitely be reading this as soon as it’s in my hands.

The maybe pile:

Royal Assassins by Robin Hobb – I really, really, really want to get farther into the Realm of the Elderlings. I didn’t love Assassin’s Apprentice, however, I did love Fitz as a character. So I will be continuing on because I have heard that the books just get better.

The Rook by Daniel O’Malley – This book is on my First Quarter TBR and I really need to catch up on the books on that list. So far I have only read one of those. I gotta get moving on that list and I have the audio so I think I can get to this.

Mansfield Park by Jane Austen – I have strangely been in the mood for a classic and this is the last Austen that I need to read. I need some Austen in my life.

The Great Believers by Rebecca Makkai – This is an adult literary fiction that takes place in the 80’s in Chicago and follows the AIDS crisis. I have heard great things and I can’t wait to get to this.

The Belles by Dhonielle Clayton – This is on my Books to Re-Read 2019 list. The second book in the series comes out in March and I want to decide if I will be picking that one up.

I will be picking up a few books for Black History Month. I have some social justice books and essay collections lined up but I’m not sure which I will read. There are also a few more sequels that I have on my shelf that I could read. We will see what ends up happening.

What are you planning to read in February? What are you excited for me to review? Let’s chat in the comments.
