Hey y’all today I want to talk about the books that I will probably pick up in the month of December. I want to finish up a couple of series and I want to read all the Christmas romances. We’ll see what I actually get to, so here is the tentative list of what I’ll be reading.
Winter of the Witch by Katherine Arden – This is book three in the Winternight trilogy. The Winternight trilogy begins with The Bear and the Nightingale and follows Russian folklore. I have literally been meaning to complete this book all year, so I really want to prioritize it in December.
City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare – Yes, I am still working my way through Cassandra Clare’s books. The Infernal Devices have been my favorite so far, but I am interested to see how The Mortal Instruments ends.
Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo – This is her first adult release and I am dying to read it. This follows Alex who attends Yale and who can see ghost. She is a part of some governing body that looks after other supernatural houses or something like that. It doesn’t matter, it’s Leigh Bardugo and I’m gonna read it.
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets & Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling – I am currently re-reading the Harry Potter series via audio and I have both of these out from my library. I love Harry Potter at Christmastime.
Call Down the Hawk by Maggie Stiefvater – The Raven Boys is a series that I enjoyed and when I heard of the Rowan spin off I knew I was going to pick this book up.
European Travel for Monstrous Gentlewoman by Theodora Goss – I read The Strange Case of the Alchemist Daughter and thoroughly enjoyed it. I knew that I was going to continue in the series so I’m excited to get to this one.
Stardust by Neil Gaiman – This is the book club book for December, so I will absolutely be reading this one. I love Neil Gaiman books and the way his imagination works is a wonder. I know nothing about Stardust and I don’t want to know anything before going in.
In addition to these books, I plan on reading some Christmas romances because they have been my bread and butter for the past couple of weeks. Some of the ones I hope to read are:
Twelve Slays of Christmas by Jacqueline Frost
Dear Santa by Nancy Naigle
Christmas in London by Anita Hughes
Also, Caroline Mickleson has an adorable novella series that I hope to complete.
Lastly, I have some books out from the library that I would like to get to also. I should have some good reading time in December, considering work will be slow and I like to hibernate.
What are you planning on reading for the month of December? What is a 2019 release you are dying to get to before the end of the year? Let’s chat in the comments.
