January 2020 TBR

Hey y’all and Happy New Year!! We’re gonna try this whole TBR thing again this year. I have a lot of exciting things that I want get to this January and I’m so excited to get them done. Here is everything that I hope to read during the month of January.

The Toll (Arc of a Scythe, #3)

The Toll by Neal Shusterman – I am so excited for the third book in this series. I had to wait for it to come into the library, so I had to wait to read it. I can’t wait to see how Shusterman ends this series.

Supernova (Renegades, #3)

Supernova by Marissa Meyer – This is also a concluding novel to the Renegades series. The first book is Renegades and I enjoyed it enough to continue the series. The second book ended with a lot of things open, so I’m curious how this concluding novel will tie up loose ends.

A Curse So Dark and Lonely (Cursebreakers, #1)

A Curse so Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer – This is a Beauty and the Beast retelling that I have been interested in and the second book comes out I believe this month. Anyway there is suppose to be very good disability rep in the book and I have heard pretty good things about it.

Senlin Ascends (The Books of Babel, #1)

Senlin Ascends by Josiah Bancroft – This book has been on my upcoming TBR shelf for so long and I finally want to get to it this month. I read a chapter sampler of the story and I really enjoyed it. For some reason I haven’t picked it up. I hope to change that this month.

Another goal is to read more non-fiction this year. I always enjoy non-fiction and I don’t know why I don’t read it more often. So here is a list of non-fiction I plan on reading this month. I will link the Goodreads for all of these so you can see what they are about:
White Fragility by Robin DiAngelo
Love Warrior by Glennon Doyle Melton
Spinster: Making a Life of Ones Own by Kate Bolick
I’m Still Here by Austin Channing Brown
Heavy : An American Memoir by Kiese Laymon

In addition to these I have a list of ARCs (advanced reader copies) that I need to read this month. Here are ARCs that I hope to read this month:

Riot Baby

Riot Baby by Tochi Onyebuchi (January 21st from Tor.com)

Statue of Limitations (A Goddess of Greene St. Mystery #1)

Statue of Limitations by Kate Collins (January 28 from Kensington Books)

Owner of a Broken Heart (Richardson Sisters Book 1)

Owner of a Broken Heart by Cheris Hodges (January 17 from Kensington Books)

An Everyday Hero (A Heart of a Hero #2)

An Everyday Hero by Laura Trentham (February 4 from St. Martin’s Press )
I will have full reviews for these once I read them, so be on the look out for synopsis and opinions throughout the month.

This is most of what I plan to read in January. I do have separate TBRs coming for the Get Sh*t Done Readathon (January 1-31) and the Smutathon (January 4-11). so be on the lookout for them.

What are you most excited to read this January? Are you participating in any readathons? Let’s chat in the comments.
