Hey y’all! Today I wanted to come to you with the books that I am hoping to start and/or finish this weekend. I have been really into reading and since it’s suppose to be a cold and rainy weekend in Texas, I don’t expect to leave the house much this weekend. Here are the books that I hope to get to this weekend.
We Hunt the Flame by Hafsah Faizal – This is a middle eastern inspired fantasy and I am enjoying myself so much with this one. The main character Zafira is amazing and the pacing of this book is really good. I’m in the last 200 pages of this one and hope to finish it today.
Wrecked by Her by Kristie Leigh – Wrecked by Her is a new adult second chance romance that follow Hunter and Jules who were in love growing up but then Jules moved away for college. After 8 years, Jules has to return to their small town in Florida because her mom got sick and her and Hunter are rekindling their lost love. This is fine. I’m interested to see where it goes though because I don’t think they get a happily ever after, at least in this book.
Riot Baby by Tochi Onyebuchi – This is a Netgalley ARC that I received that releases on January 21, so I really need to read it before it releases. I think this has something to do with race relations and other important topics. This is a novella so I hope to read it in pretty much one sitting.
Books in progress:
Hollow Kingdom by Kira Jane Buxton – Shit Turd is a domesticated crow whose human has all of a sudden started acting strange. S.T. goes around Seattle to try to figure out what is going on with the mofos (humans) because they all seem to be acting strange. Ever wonder what happens to animals in a post-apocalyptic world? I didn’t think I wanted to know either, but I am so intrigued. (audio)
The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern – I have been reading this book FOREVER and I really need to finish the last 150 pages of it. We’ll see if I can do that this weekend, but probably not.
Books I Hope to Start:
Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain – This is my library book club book for the month and I have about two weeks left before we meet. I have read this before a long time ago and I know it is going to be slow going, so I better get started.
The Toll by Neal Shusterman – This is the final book in Arc of the Scythe series, which I love and I really want to start this one so it can be next in line for my big book of the week. We will see about this one because I have so much I want to work my way through this weekend. Maybe a 24 hour readathon will be in order.
What are your reading plans for the weekend? Let’s chat in the comments.
