Hey y’all! I’m here today to tell y’all what I plan on reading for the month of February. Surprisingly, I kept to my January TBR fairly well. So I thought I would try it again for February. I will also be attempting to participate in a couple of readathons, but I’ll probably just do a separate wrap-up for those. Here are the books in my February TBR pile:
Maybe You Should Talk to Someone by Lori Gottlieb – This is a non-fiction book by a therapist about her time in therapy and also about some of her patients. I’ve started this one and it has been hilarious and insightful.
Unfollow: A Journey from Hatred and Hope by Megan Phelps-Roper – Another non-fiction book about Megan who was raised in the Westboro “Baptist Church” and left at the age of 26. I have heard good things about this and hope to knock it out early in the month.
Moonlocket by Peter Bunzl – This is the second book in the Cogheart series. I loved the first book and have an ARC of the third book, Skycircus.
Beloved by Toni Morrison – This will only be my second Morrison and I thought I would go for one of her more well known books. AND since it’s Black History Month, I must read a Morrison!
Magic Bites by Ilona Andrews – This is a book off my 20 kindle books to read in 2020. I have had it waaayyy to long and have heard good things about this paranormal romance.
Man Fast: A Memoir – Yet another non-fiction. I have been reading a lot of essay collections and memoirs. I think I got this free as a Prime Book of the month pick so I want to finally read it while I’m in the mood for it.
No So Pure and Simple by Lamar Giles – This was my BOTM pick for January and one of my most anticipated releases of the year! This is YA contemporary about Del has had a cruch on Kiera forever and now she’s available. That’s all I know but I have read a Lamar Giles book previously, Spin, and really enjoyed it.
The Girl Who Smiled Beads by Clemantine Wamarita – This is another BOTM pick that has been hanging out on my shelves forever. I have another mini goal of reading all my Book of the Month club picks from previous years. This is a nonfiction about a girl who escaped from Rowanda or something like that. Like I said, I have been loving memoirs.
Bluebird, Bluebird by Attica Locke – Another book that I have been meaning to read for ages. Attica Locke is touted as being one of the best new crime write writers. I read a book from her a few years ago, The Cutting Season, and enjoyed it. I’m especially excited to read this one because it follows a Texas Ranger in a small town.
In West Mills by De’Shawn Charles Winslow – I don’t know what this is about, but it is an aged Netgalley ARC that I really need to knock out.
In addition to these, I have my library book club book, A Guest of the Reich by Peter Finn and the ARCs that I want to get to are as follows:
Claim Your Crown by Tarah-Lynn Saint-Elien (February 4)
Initiation by Melanie Gill (February 6)
Skycircus by Peter Bunzl (Feb. 11, although it’s been out in the UK)
It’s Not Over: Leaving Behind Disappointment and Learning to Dream Again by Joshua Gagnon (February 25)
Eternity Springs: Tucker by Emily March (February 25)
The Hearts We Burn by Briana Cole (February 25)
A Cowboy to Remember by Rebekah Weatherspoon (February 25)
Thank you to all the publishers and NetGalley for the early review copies.
These are all the books that I hope to read and listen to in the month of February. What are some book you are planning to read?
