Romance Wrap Up #2

Hey y’all! Today I wanted to talk about the romances that I “recently” finished.

Saved by Him (Like A Hurricane, #2)
2019, Indie Publishing

Saved by Her by Kristie Leigh (Like a Hurricane #2) – In this second book we continue the second chance romance of Jules and Hunter. In the first book, Wrecked by Her, Jules and Hunter were high school sweethearts but Jules went across country to college and never came back to her hometown. Hunter is still in love with Jules after all these year and when she comes back to town, things spark back up between them. But will Jules stay or leave again? The duology is fine. Nothing groundbreaking but a solid read.

The Unhoneymooners
2019, Gallery Books

The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren – Olive and Ethan, who can’t stand each other, are forced to go on the honeymoon for Olive’s twin and Ethan’s brother after everyone at the wedding gets sick except them. How will it ever turn out? This is a disdain to love romantic comedy and it was good. The inevitable conflict that kept them apart wasn’t my favorite but I would still recommend this book. The sex scenes are fade to black overall, so if the smutty smut isn’t your thing. This will work.

Mermen's Melody (Ballads of Cadarnle #4)
2020, Scarlet Lantern Publishing

Mermen’s Melody by A.J. Ryder (Ballads of Cadarnle #4) – This is a reverse harem romance between a woman and a pod of three mermen. They initially encounter her when she is young but then they let her go and she ends up finding them again when she is an adult. This was exactly what you would expect. I kept reading because I needed to know the logistics of mermaid, merpeople?, sex. Anyway, it was a fun read if it’s your thing.
****This was an ARC provided to me free from the publisher. This doesn’t affect my review in the slightest.*****

Desperate Measures (Wicked Villains, #1)
2019, Trinkets and Tales, LLC

Desperate Measures by Katee Robert (Wicked Villains #1) – Jafar and Jasmine in a consensual/non-consensual relationship and Aladdin is the enemy. That’s all you need to know about the plot. It was something that I didn’t know I would like, but I did. It’s steamy and very readable. I would recommend and I have the second book on my kindle ready to go.

Once Ghosted, Twice Shy (Reluctant Royals, #2.5)
2019, Avon Impulse

Once Ghosted, Twice Shy by Alyssa Cole (Reluctant Royals #2.5) – This novella takes place in the Reluctant Royals world and features Likotsi. Likotsi is on the subway when she runs into the girl that she had a whirlwind love affair with from a dating app, but things ended abruptly. They take to the streets of New York and rekindle their love. This was so great and I loved how everything worked out. I love this series so it’s really no surprise that I loved this novella.

Chef Sugarlips (Ponderosa Resort Romantic Comedies, #2)
2018, Indie Publishing

Chef Sugarlips by Tawna Fenske (Ponderosa Resort Romantic Comedies #2) – This second companion book after, Studmuffin Santa, is about Sean, the cousin of Brandon from the first book, and Amber, the sister of Jade in the first book. Sean is a chef at the new resort and when he runs into Amber they have instant chemistry. Mostly due to Sean having had a crush on Amber since they were kids. When Sean’s mother shows up unexpectedly, he must navigate his budding relationship with Amber and his issues with his mother. Additionally Amber must let go of her perfect girl reputation in town and realize Sean loves her just the way she is. I really enjoy this series, it’s like cotton candy, I just eat it up. The story was adorable, the conflict wasn’t annoying, and the happy ending warmed my heart. I definitely say check this series out.
