Hey y’all! Today I wanted to do a list of middle grade book series that I want to continue. I absolutely love middle grade and I have some series that I really want to get read as soon as possible. Here is my list of middle grade books that I want to finish.

Akata Witch by Nnedi Okorafor – This African inspired fantasy features a girl with albinism who is overcoming so much. She has special powers that she is just discovering. The story was so captivating and I can’t believe that I haven’t continued with this series.

Prandava Quartet by Roshani Chokshi – I loved this story so much! Aru Shah inadvertently releases a death god and has to go on an adventure to stop him from destroying the world. The characters are so cute and the Hindu mythology is super interesting. I fully plan to continue in this series very soon. (Stay tuned)

Greenglass House by Kate Milford – I have a full review of this book. Milo was such a good character and the mystery in the story was so interesting and fun. I just saw that this series has four books and I’m gonna need to read all of them!

Track series by Jason Reynolds – Y’all this dealt with so much in such a short time and I really enjoyed all of it. Watching Ghost figure things out with his not great home life and fighting his internal anger was so great. I can’t wait to read the other three books in the series. Each additional book follows a different character on the track team and each had such a compelling story, that I want to know more about them.

Cogheart by Peter Bunzl – This was surprisingly dark for a middle grade but it was so much fun. Lily’s father is presumed dead and she must move in with a mean lady who is to be her caretaker. Through a series of events, she ends up on an adventure with a boy from town and one of her father’s inventions to find out what really happened to her father. This was such a fun read and I can’t wait to read the other four books in the series.

The Wizards of Once by Cressida Cowell – This was such a nonsensical story. The Wizards and the Warriors are at odds in this world but when a wizard prince and a warrior princess meet up, they must work together to try to resolve some differences. I have a full review for this book and I can’t wait to get to the additional books in the series. Also, the illustrations in this one are so fun.
These are the top middle grade series that I really want to catch up on or complete soon. I’ve definitely been in the mood for something fun and that doesn’t take much brain power for me.

Love this! Jason Reynold is one of my favourite authors, but I have yet to read the Track series. I am always amazed at what he can do in so few words. He just announced on Instagram that Long Way Done is being made into a graphic novel!

The only one of these series I’ve read in full is Track. I think each of the books are as a strong as Ghost! And they make for quick and entertaining reads.
